I want to thank all who reached out to ask good questions about the vague door hangers that many of you received concerning the Statue of Peace project, proposed for 805 S. Front Street in Queen Village. That’s why we are holding a community meeting dedicated to this topic on Thursday, September 15th at 6:30pm.
To review, the Philadelphia Peace Plaza Committee began a dialogue with neighbors of Queen Village in 2017. Per the City’s engagement process, and as a result of QVNA’s community meetings and online feedback we received about the Statue, QVNA’s Board submitted a letter of non-opposition to the City, Since that time, PPPC has remained in contact with QVNA; in Board meetings and Community Meetings.
Now, I invite you all to attend a community meeting to hear from Shinjoo Cho, Chair of the Philadelphia Peace Project Committee. There, you will be able to see, firsthand, the plans for proposed amenities and have your questions answered.
On Monday, September 19th at 9:30am, the Art Commission is hosting another Zoom meeting to continue its public engagement process. You are all invited to attend.
But before that, please come have your questions answered and concerns addressed tomorrow night. We will meet in the community room at St. Philip Neri Church – 218 Queen Street at 6:30.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Eleanor Ingersoll, QVNA President
