It’s National Safety Month. And to celebrate, each week in June we’ll share tips to help us all enjoy a safer summer in Queen Village.
Tip #1: Attend a public safety meeting with our 3rd District Police Leaders.
- June 6th @ 6pm at the Santore Library – Review and discuss a summary of crime issues from the past 30 days. Bring your questions (and bring a neighbor, too!)
- June 13th @ 6pm at the Police 3rd District Roll Call Room – Discuss crime and safety concerns directly with our 3rd District Police Captain.
- These meetings are monthly on the first and second Wednesdays. Please spread the word with your neighbors so someone from your block always attends.
Tip #2: Have an outside security camera? Join the Philly Police SafeCam Network.
Online registration takes only 10 minutes. Rest easier knowing you’ve done your part to help our Police protect you, your family and your neighbors.
Tip #3: Throw a Block Party
The better you know your neighbors, the more likely you’ll look out for each other. Swap phone numbers. Tell someone when you’ll be on vacation. (Ask a neighbor to remove weekly circulars from your stoop: they “advertise” that you’re not home.) So play it safe: throw a block party, (here’s the application) and get knowsy with your neighbors!
So we’re curious — when is YOUR block’s party?
