John Little
(March 28, 1750 – January 1777 or 1779)
John Little was born on March 28, 1750 in Eatontown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He served as a lieutenant in the Monmouth County Militia during the Revolutionary War. He married Mary Leeds (August 20, 1749 – ?) on 16 April 1768 in Hunterdon Co, NJ and their son John Leeds Little was born on May 19, 1777 and died April 12, 1823. John Little may have been killed by the Hessians at Trenton Ford in 1777, or while leading a party of 30 militia at the battle of Tinton Falls in 1779. Little family records list his death as 1777.
