Southwark Queen Village Community Garden

This urban garden was created on a vacant lot in 1976 through the efforts of neighborhood residents. Today, this unique oasis and model of sustainability includes garden plots for 65 gardeners, beehives, fruit trees, solar lighting, and a gathering place for meetings and potluck dinners. It is permanently preserved by the Neighborhood Garden Association/ A Philadelphia Land Trust.
