Queen Village Transit Guide

5. Transit Tips

Keep a supply of tokens and DayPasses on hand for use whenever needed.

Pick up timetables for the routes you use frequently at SEPTA’s Market East Station, 11th & Market, or from the lobby rack at 1234 Market St. Or you can have them mailed to you; phone 215-580-7800.

Buses in QV usually stop on the “nearside” corner; that is, before the cross-street. There are exceptions; look for the SEPTA bus stop sign.

Arrive at your bus stop five minutes early. Due to variable traffic conditions, buses do not always run “to the minute.” Your 9:32 PM bus may pass your stop at 9:30, for example.

Combine transit use with a Philly CarShare membership (www.phillycarshare.org, 215-730-0988), and you may not need to own a car, saving yourself money and hassle (inspections, renewals, repairs, parking, parking tickets, street cleaning – the list goes on and on ... !). .

Check out SEPTA’s Transit Store, 1234 Market St. (rear of lobby). Transit souvenirs, great toys, transit history books and more. Nearby, there’s a classic Philly trolley on display.
